In preparation for an Armenian Institute event on Armenian Women in Science and Innovation, I looked into Armenia's pivotal role in developing computers in the Soviet Union.

As a Westerner, all of the history of computing I learned growing up was focused on developments in the UK and USA. Recently however, in preparation for an Armenian Institute event on Armenian Women in Science and Innovation, I have been reading up on the parallel developments within the Soviet Union and Armenia’s pivotal role.

As a companion to the event, I put together a short article about the history of History of computing in Armenia.
